Queen JaKala Imari DuBose is the daughter of Hendless, III and Chelsea DuBose, the granddaughter of Annie Mae DuBose and the Late Albert and Irene Tolbert, and Hendless DuBose, Jr.
Queen JaKala is a member of Christ Temple Apostolic Church where she is a member of the Choir.
She is a 2017 graduate of John L. LeFlore Magnet High School. At LeFlore, JaKala was a proud Mighty Marching Rattler and Symphonic bands member. Jakala received her Alabama State Board License as a Certified Nursing Assistant. During high school, JaKala was affiliated with many organizations such as Health Occupations Student of America (HOSA), Future Business Leaders of America FBLA, and Student Government Association (SGA).
After high school, Queen JaKala attended Bishop State Community College, graduating in 2020 with an Associate Degree in General Education. During her collegiate years at Bishop State Community College, she served as the Freshman Class President, President of the SGA (Student Government Association), President of the college Pep-Squad, and one of the Bishop State Wildcat Ambassadors.
Queen JaKala founded a newly formed organization Planned Parenthood Generation Action and her proudest moment was the revision of the Bishop State Community College Motto. Her collegiate royal accolades include Miss SGA (Student Government Association), Miss QEP (Quality Enhancement Plan), Second Runner up to Miss Homecoming, and First Runner Up to Miss Bishop State Community College. She continued her education at Remington College Mobile and graduated in 2022 as a Medical Assistant with X-ray. Queen JaKala recently passed the National Healthcare Association Board Exam, earning her Clinical Certified Medical Assistant Certification. She is currently attending Capella University majoring in Psychology.
In her spare time, Queen JaKala enjoys advocating for Women’s Rights and educating young individuals on the importance of voting.
